Herringbone Pillow - Pebbled Cherry
With this design, we push the boundaries of classic herringbone, while still holding onto the sophistication. The “pebbling” is one of our proprietary dye techniques, a “happy accident” in the creative process that we fell in love with.
20” x 20” 100% linen sham with cotton lining and premium YKK metal zipper with waxed cotton zipper pull. Includes plush 95% duck feather / 5% down insert. Fiber reactive procion dyes are used, ensuring that the dye is bonded to the natural fibers and will not fade or bleed.
Crafted in Brooklyn, NY. Since each pillow is handmade, very slight variations in color and size will occur.
We use heavyweight 100% European warsa linen for our pillow shams and table linens. Linen is stronger and more biodegradable than cotton. It’s also naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic. Linen resists dirt and stains better than any other natural fiber and it does not produce lint or pilling. It has a great natural texture and gets softer with age. The environmental advantages, durability, and character of linen make it our prefered fabric.
We use fiber reactive procion dyes. These are the most permanent of all dye types. Unlike other dyes, fiber reactive dye actually forms a covalent bond with the cellulose protein (in our case, linen) molecule. Once the bond is formed, you have a single molecule as the dye molecule has become an actual part of the cellulose fiber molecule. And there’s your science lesson for the day! Because of this molecular bond, the colors won’t bleed or fade.
Premium YKK metal zippers are used for the closure of our pillows. Rather than fussing with hidden zippers that tend to be made of cheap plastic and are notoriously difficult to open and close, we’ve chosen to feature a high-quality zipper that matches the quality of the rest of the pillow. Incorporated linen zipper coverings at the front and back of the zipper provide added durability and a clean look. With these details, you know you’re getting an exquisite piece that is built to last.
